Vocational Training

The Vocational Training program provides assessment of employability and develops employment skills to assist individuals to have access to, and participate fully in, their communities. Individuals participate in a transitional training program that is diverse and accessible, resulting in skilled employees. Each individual focuses on the development of:
- Work skills
- Work attitudes
- Personal characteristics
- Interpersonal skills
- Work behaviors
The above skills give the individual the functional capacity to achieve positive employment outcomes. In addition to the development of these skills, individuals may also experience:
- Volunteer work
- Job exploration
- Job and Specific skills training
- Computer training
- Interviewing tips and techniques
- Community Employment Teams (C.E.T.) (Small group of workers with disabilities who enter the community and work under the supervision of Open Door staff.)
